    Overview

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Compliance Licensing Analyst is responsible to execute mortgage-licensing functions to ensure compliance with state and federal licensing requirements. This position will be in charge of submission, maintenance, and renewal of company, branch, and individual MLO licenses.     

     

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintenance, renewal, and application for licenses appropriate to Rushmore business operations related to mortgage servicing and originations using NMLS or other licensing processes
    • Manage MLO licenses, including education, testing, licensure, and sponsorship
    • Familiarity with the S.A.F.E. Act and NMLS, including individual and company license and continuing education requirements
    • Review and identify licensing prerequisites on a state by state basis
    • Assist applicants with scheduling required education classes, tests, fingerprint appointments, etc.
    • Maintain licensing matrix to adequately reflect the business units’ state licenses and due dates for renewal
    • Collect and archive all licensing information and material documentation to a central repository including any interdepartmental communications
    • Timely file all required state regulatory reports, renewals, and other applicable licensing requirements
    • Research mortgage lending/servicing/collection licensing requirements and adhere to regulations
    • Ensure that changes in personnel (branch management, QIs, MLOs, etc.) are reported timely through NMLS as applicable
    • Correspond with state regulators regarding license issues/questions
    • Monitor NMLS for any deficiencies and comments posted from regulators regarding licenses
    • Policy and procedure creation and maintenance for licensing functions
    • Escalate significant issues
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Familiarity with various state S.A.F.E. Act and NMLS requirements
    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to organize and coordinate projects for timely delivery
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to be assertive, work independently, and be an effective team member
    • Strong creative problem solving and multi-tasking skills

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma required
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage servicing or originations, preferably with a strong knowledge of state licensing and reporting functions including related compliance regulations
    • Minimum 1 year of experience with NMLS
    • SAFE Act knowledge and experience

     

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and web based sites
    • Working knowledge of NMLS
