    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Senior Server Administrator will perform highly complex duties in the installation, integration, administration, maintenance and focus on storage and backup systems. Contributes strategic vision and serves as a top-level contributor for the complex IT Infrastructure initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with the IT Applications team, IT Operations team and lines of business to analyze business requirements and develop scalable and cost-effective solutions
    • Perform evaluations of new infrastructure solutions sets to augment existing capabilities.
    • Assist in the design of IT infrastructure solutions that conform to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in and/or lead major infrastructure implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
    • Maintains the backup system infrastructure, improves backup system performance, and develops new enhancements and services
    • Create standard procedures for the backup and storage systems
    • Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis of the backup and storage infrastructure
    • Performs troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
    • Perform activities related to the install, configuration and management of SAN devices and fiber switches
    • Oversee IO performance and provide architecture and performance recommendations
    • Works with senior IT staff to recommend hardware and software purchases
    • In Person, Phone, Email and Ticket support with onsite and remote employees.
    • Manage Ticket pipeline within stated SLA’s.
    • Performs all other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Strong experience with storage architecture and administration (SAN, NAS, Fiber channel, iSCSI, etc.)
    • Strong experience managing and designing backup solutions for an organization with multiple locations and multiple storage types
    • Prior experience with NetBackup or Veeam a plus
    • Must have experience with NetApp Filer and Hitachi SANs, Nimble a plus
    • Linux experience a strong plus
    • Cloud experience a strong plus (AWS, Azure)
    • Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, and strong presentation skills.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma required
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience required
    • Three (+) years of experience in storage administration
    • Five (+) years of experience in backup administration
