    Overview

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The AVP, Loss Mitigation will be responsible for setting strategy to maximize customer payments on high risk delinquent accounts. Close coordination is required with Collections Operations and Default Operations to set optimal customer contact strategy, collecting payments, and/or liquidate assets with minimal loss. 

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Capability and experience with establishing strategic vision and driving change towards achieving goals in alignment with business targets.
    • Monitor Loss Mitigation workout performance loss severity trends.
    • Develop and maintain operation strategies and procedures.
    • Review of high risk, severely delinquent portfolios and accounts for Loss Mitigation opportunities.
    • Review modifications filed for adherence with Company policy and Guidelines.
    • Responsible for communications with internal management, external clients, and rating agencies.
    • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to Collections, Loss Mitigation, and Default processing.
    • Full people management responsibilities including hiring, terminations, promotions, performance and compensation management, and training and development
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Thorough knowledge of relevant federal/state regulations and the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act.
    • Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Default and/or Collection/ Call Center procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of the new CFPB policy/guidelines and ability to audit and ensure the process/procedures are accurate to the letter of the law.
    • Must be detail oriented, have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
    • Strong risk management analysis and policy development experience.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of management. Displays flexibility to work well with varying personal styles.

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required.
    • Ten (+) years in Collections, Loss Mitigation, and/or Default Operations experience
    • Five (+) years of related people management experience

     

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Strong technical skills including MS Excel, Access and Data Analysis
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
    • Lender Processing Services (LPS)/MSP experience preferred
