    Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Fraud Review Specialist is responsible for the daily review and monitoring of HELOC transactions for the purpose of identifying potential fraud and analyzing data for irregular patterns. Also responsible for additional audit and reconciliation tasks.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review of customer convenience checks and ACH transactions on open credit lines
    • Monitor transactional records to identify unauthorized transactions and fraudulent accounts/activity
    • Review transactions and identify suspicious or high-risk transactions; determine if there is improper activity involved and risk to the company or the borrower Audit of newly acquired HELOC loans from Acquisitions
    • Escalate all suspicious activity and ensure it is reviewed with management in a timely manner to mitigate any potential risks; flag/suspend the account until it can be checked and verified
    • Remittance and reconciliation of HELOC advance activities to the designated deposit accounts
    • Ensure that pre-established department standards are achieved and maintained
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Strong attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of HELOC loans
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of basic Mortgage Documents
    • Must be flexible to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Must be able to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Experience in accounting or audit preferred
    • Three plus years’ experience in mortgage servicing

     

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
    • Working knowledge of MSP preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
