    Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The VP of Compliance is responsible for ensuring the organization operates in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding the servicing of residential mortgage loans.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform legal research and analysis of state and federal mortgage lending and servicing practices including the review of statutes, regulations, and case law.
    • Design and conduct compliance testing programs applicable to mortgage lending and servicing.
    • Develop and conduct fair lending reviews.
    • Assist Chief Compliance Officer in responding to state/federal agency inquiries and complaints.
    • Advise Compliance Department management as to changes in applicable laws and regulations, and the effect of those changes on Company practices
    • Oversee the internal quarterly compliance review functions.
    • Assist outside auditors, as needed.
    • Provide routine feedback to management for process improvement.
    • Random call auditing to ensure compliance with FDCPA, Asset Control, and any other Company policies and procedures.
    • Develop and maintain current knowledge of all applicable state laws and regulations regarding foreclosure and default of residential mortgage and consumer loans.
    • Perform legal research and analysis of state foreclosure and default laws. This includes the review of statutes, regulations, and case law.
    • Determine and assign applicable compliance courses to company-wide employees
    • Perform all other duties as needed

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Previous audit or supervisory experience with a financial services firm with a focus on regulatory compliance.
    • Strong technical understanding of the financial services regulatory environment.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Proficient understanding of the internal audit processes a plus.
    • Prior experience communicating with regulators a plus.

     

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business including Economics, Finance, Accounting.
    • M.B.A. or equivalent post graduate degree is highly encouraged.
    • A C.P.A and/or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) a plus.
    • Successful mortgage servicing experience desirable.

     

     

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
