    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The VP of Default Operations will provide leadership, direction and coordination of all activities for foreclosure and bankruptcy actions, in accordance with Rushmore’s business strategy. Key responsibilities include developing and motivating a high performance team committed to delivering high productivity and minimizing loss.  Identifies process and procedure change needs and implementations changes to improve efficiency and quality within the unit.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Achieves results through others by managing a team.
    • Actively participates in the implementation and development of strategies for the distressed portfolio.
    • As directed by Legal and Compliance, will be required to audit and execute documents in accordance with internal policy and procedures on behalf of Rushmore and Investors.
    • Communicates initiatives and translates strategic impact on the team.
    • Contributes to, and operationalizes the business strategy by developing actionable plans or programs that align to the business strategy and ensure integration of related functions.
    • Develop and maintain positive business relationships with attorneys and other vendors.
    • Ensure all activities of the bankruptcy and foreclosure are completed within established company, state and investor timelines.
    • Ensure process and procedures are adequate to meet quality standards and are consistently applied and regularly reviewed within department.
    • Ensure timely submission of monthly management reports.
    • Establishes business plans, policies, procedures that support and align with Company initiatives and strategies.
    • Holds subordinates accountable for performance.
    • Makes recommendations for process improvement and service delivery.
    • Partners with other internal resources in the execution of the strategy.
    • Prepare monthly default reports.
    • Provide overall direction to department supervisors to assure synchronized teamwork that accomplishes monthly operations goals and objectives.
    • Provides strategic direction and in-depth expertise though coordination, implementation, setting accountability and delivery of services.
    • Responsible for developing department budget and staffing projections.
    • Responsible for monitoring plans and programs to ensure alignment with business objectives and other functions are met.
    • Responsible for the direction and training of subordinate supervisors and staff.  Address employee concerns and sensitivities and holds staff accountable for performance.
    • Track and measure department progress on a monthly basis.
    • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

     

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external vendors.
    • Knowledge of investor guidelines including FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC and GNMA.
    • Strong leadership skills including the ability to lead, coach and develop effective teams and the ability to develop and execute on strategy.
    • Excellent team development and change management skills required.
    • Ability to work under stringent deadlines stressing urgency to achieve daily and monthly goals with expected quality and in accordance with required policies and procedures.
    • Strong business acumen and excellent relationship management skills across all levels.

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Bachelor's degree required. 
    • 10+ years of Mortgage Banking experience, with extensive knowledge of bankruptcy and foreclosure processes for all states.
    • 8+ years in a management capacity.

     

     

     

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

     

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
    • Familiar with LPS desktop and MSP workstations
