Overview

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Collateral Analyst is responsible for assessing collateral files and documents, verifying mortgage note ownership and title chains, identifying chain exceptions, and facilitating corrections.

This position will primarily interact with business units and investors regarding collateral activity through specified reporting requirements and ad-hoc review requests.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Performs collateral reviews and identifies exceptions
  • Facilitates the cure of collateral exceptions
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert for their assigned Investor
  • Updates the Collateral Tracking System
  • Advises assigned investors on gaps in Collateral Documents and provides reporting to investors on a routine and ad-hoc basis
  • Provides applicable document status updates to business units and investors
  • Monitors required reporting fields from proprietary systems
  • Extracts various Excel reports with pivot summaries
  • Assist Supervisors/Managers with employee performance discussions
  • Training of Junior Collateral Analysts
  • Provides Management with reporting and analysis of status of Collateral requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 

  • Comprehension of Capital Market investors within the mortgage industry
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan origination and loan purchase processes
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage collateral documents
  • Assertive and able to make decisions independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail orientation with strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelors’ Degree preferred
  • 4+ years mortgage experience preferred
  • 2+ years collateral document experience with seasoned mortgages

 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Advanced MS Excel and MS Word
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • MSP/LPS Desktop experience preferred
