Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The GNMA Default Support Specialist is responsible for assisting the Foreclosure and Bankruptcy Specialists manage timelines and workflow processes on loans in foreclosure and/or bankruptcy in accordance with established work rules, goals & objectives to improve timeline and attorney performance.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all clerical functions in support of foreclosure and bankruptcy departments on assigned cases by interacting with internal customers and attorneys, investors, and any other party involved with the foreclosure or bankruptcy.
  • Monitor LPS Desktop on assigned functions to insure that tasks and processes are completed in a timely manner, according to investor/insurer, state, and regulatory guidelines, while minimizing financial losses to the company.
  • Monitor the attorney’s performance by reviewing all proceedings, records and timeframes in addition to working all system/database activities throughout the foreclosure and bankruptcy process.
  • Review and approve accuracy of the legal documentation that is submitted for execution
  • Performs required research on Assignment requests for proper foreclosure notification, who to foreclose in the name of and any other situation that may arise.
  • Provide upon request to attorney requested documentation
  • Handle diligently all requests sent by the attorneys and Records Management.
  • Assist other Default Support Specialists and acts as a backup when others are out of the office.
  • Provide one-on-one training for new Default Support Specialists.
  • Perform other duties or projects as requested by manager.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and people skills.
  • Knowledge of Mortgage documents.
  • Ability to make decisions and to handle multiple tasks within established timeframes maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills while making sound judgment and accurate decisions.
  • Ability to independently solve complex problems.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail is a must.
  • Knowledge of Real Estate/Loan documents, including loan closing and the foreclosure process. 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Four (+) years mortgage servicing experience

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiar with LPS desktop and MSP workstations
