The MERS Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of the MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration System) process at Rushmore. This position performs or directs all MERS related functions to ensure the accuracy of the MERS system and that it is reconciled to Rushmore’s servicing system, MSP. This position will work with various departments including Loan Boarding, Loan Administration, Law, Compliance and Originations to ensure that MERS loans are properly boarded and managed on the system.




  • Acts as a liaison to MERS for Rushmore, and investors.
  • Establishes the acquisition and/or timelines with all parties internal and external for the MERS process.
  • Responds to incoming inquiries from MERS or distributes them to appropriate internal departments and confirm they are completed timely.
  • Performs the timely processing of all tasks related to the acquisitions and transfers process for the MERS system, including final reconciliations of loan counts boarded to MSP and MERS.
  • Performs all process functions within the MERS system.
  • Performs quarterly MERS portfolio review.
  • Ensures Loans are properly reported to MERS.
  • Reviews and maintains all reporting provided by MERS.
  • Coordinates any tasks or projects related to MERS.
  • Compiles all sub-servicing related data for annual compliance reporting to MERS.
  • Provides guidance to associates related to MERS system and process.
  • Maintains all applicable corporate requirements for eligible signors, resolutions and MERS contacts for all Rushmore businesses.
  • Distributes MERS communication and/or documents to appropriate areas within Rushmore.
  • Assists in the billing reconciliation to investors.
  • Monitors department policies and procedures related to MERS and recommends changes, as needed
  • Responds to all correspondence related to MERS.
  • Ensures MIN level research for any MERS related issue is completed timely
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Strong organization and follow-up skills, ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workflow in a high-volume environment, ability to work well independently, as well as, part of a team to achieve department/group goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with internal staff and external customers.
  • Detail orientation with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a high volume and time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of associates and management, as well as with the public and outside vendors.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures within the mortgage industry.





  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in mortgage loan servicing or in a related area.
  • Familiarity of the MERS system and process.
  • Working knowledge of MSP Servicing System.
  • Experience with MINTRAK system is a plus, but not required.





  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to create presentations and provide demonstrations of systems.
