Overview

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Collateral Management AVP will act as liaison between business units, investors and custodians, regarding collateral requirements for servicing tasks. Responsible to manage oversight of staff related to review of collateral files and documents as it pertains to verification of mortgage note ownership and title chains. Position will require interaction with internal and external auditors as well as oversight of monthly and quarterly production reporting for department.

  • Fulfills internal requests for collateral review projects and document preparation for investors.
  • Holds subordinates accountable for performance.
  • Identifies system enhancements and report requirements.
  • Influences or establishes departmental policies, procedures or processes.
  • Influences or recommends process improvement and service delivery.
  • Interacts with other department managers to fulfill best practices for servicing.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Manages project priorities and required deliverables for investors.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction and provides suggestions for improvements in services or programs.
  • Operationalizes the business strategy by developing actionable plans or programs for a function.
  • Oversight of employees performing collateral reviews.
  • Participates in investor related communication and reporting.
  • Partners with other internal resources in the execution of the strategy.
  • Provides thought leadership and in-depth expertise through coordination, implementation and delivery of services.
  • Provides training and employee feedback.
  • Responsible for monitoring plans and programs to ensure alignment with business objectives and other functions.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of mortgage loan origination and loan purchase processes
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage collateral documents
  • Assertive and able to make decisions independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail orientation with strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills
  • Possesses a hands-on proactive style that delivers solutions to support the business and its customers

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum 5 year in management role
  • Minimum 7 year in job specific area
  • 5+ years Collateral document and mortgage Industry experience preferred

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • MSP/LPS Desktop experience preferred
