Overview

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The AVP, Default Credit Risk will be responsible for setting strategy to maximize modification processing on high risk delinquent accounts, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidance, and reporting production results. This position works closely with the Loss Mitigation and Default Management Departments.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Capability and experience with establishing strategic vision and driving change towards achieving goals in alignment with business targets.
  • Analyze transactions to ensure compliance with investor proprietary as well as HAMP, FHA, VA, USDA and GSE program modification guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain operation strategies and procedures.
  • Owner of modification process flow at point of handoff from loss mitigation agent through generation of documents and final system changes.
  • Ensure modifications are moving forward in pipeline within specified regulatory and investor SLAs
  • Review modifications filed for adherence with Company policy and Guidelines.
  • Responsible for communications with internal management, external clients, and rating agencies.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to Loss Mitigation and Default processing.
  • Assist in creation, maintenance, and updating of departmental policies and procedures
  • Full people management responsibilities including hiring, terminations, promotions, performance and compensation management, and training and development
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant federal/state regulations and the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act.
  • Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Default procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of CFPB policy/guidelines and ability to audit and ensure the process/procedures are accurate to the letter of the law.
  • Experience with modification documentation or origination closing documentation
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong risk management analysis and policy development experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels of management. Displays flexibility to work well with varying personal styles.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (+) years in Collections, Loss Mitigation, and/or Default Operations experience, with five (+) years of related people management experience.
  • NMLS Licensing preferred

  

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Strong technical skills including MS Excel, Access and Data Analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Lender Processing Services (LPS)/MSP experience preferred.
