POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Quality Control Operations is primarily responsible for auditing and evaluating vendors performing quality control reviews to ensure company policies, procedures and Agencies/ Government requirements are being met.  

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage the on shore and off shore QC vendors to ensure controls are in accordance with regulatory, state and federal guidelines within required timeframes.
  • Perform Servicing QC review of the vendor’s work on a monthly/quarterly basis and provide feedback to them timely as necessary to identify issues requiring remediation, process controls and standards.
  • Perform Sampling Selection for the audits to be reviewed on a monthly basis
  • Perform thorough loan level reviews to ensure established regulatory, investor/insurer servicing guidelines are met for the following functions: General Servicing, Default Management & Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure Administration, Claim Submission, Escrow Administration, Payment Processing, Servicing Transfers and Paid in full
  • Select, train, coach and supervise staff to achieve departmental objectives
  • Provide training to business partners as needed
  • Perform a monthly loan selection in the auditing software for monthly QC reviews.
  • Analyze regular and loan level data, summarize the results, suggest resolution, and assist with implementation and follow up when appropriate.
  • Prepare QC Monthly Reports which track and monitor material, moderate, and recurring exceptions identified during the reviews that are violations of Government/Agencies or Investor requirements.
  • Determine defect drivers and analyze root cause of the exceptions and open Management Action Plans in Logic Manager.
  • Escalate QC concerns to VP of Quality Control
  • Validate/Test Management Action Plans to ensure corrective actions are taken timely by the business.
  • Present Servicing QC findings and Management Action Plan (MAP) summary to the QC Committee on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in the review and development of new and/or revisions to Quality Control policies and procedures.
  • Continually evaluate QC processes and recommend improvements which automate and streamline QC workflow.
  • Perform other related duties or QC reviews as assigned.
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff
  • Manage time efficiently and prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 

  • Advance knowledgeable in FHA, VA, FNMA and FHLMC guidelines for default servicing and General Servicing
  • Extensive and current knowledge in multi-state and federal regulations relative to mortgage Servicing.
  • Very strong work ethic; roll-up the sleeves attitude
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationship with co-workers and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and perform with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision while meeting department performance measures.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate projects for timely delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in chaotic, fast moving environment with quick response times.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 10 years servicing or quality control experience
  • Mortgage industry experience a plus
  • Understanding of compliance and regulations; CFPB knowledge desired
  • Knowledge of MSP is required

 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, Visio, etc.) in the creation of spreadsheets, databases and various word processing formats and document templates.
