Overview

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Regulatory Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that Rushmore services loans in full compliance with all applicable state and local laws and regulations. Primary tasks will include reviewing any Federal and/or State Regulatory changes and/or newly enacted Laws, helping to implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance on an on-going basis, assisting with employee training and communications, and providing information as needed to respond to consumer complaints and regulatory examinations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and track new and changed regulations affecting the Company
  • Analyze new and changed regulations and prepare summaries outlining same
  • Review, track, and validate Business Impact Analyses relating to changes in regulatory requirements
  • Identify all potential regulatory changes that may impact the organization
  • Facilitate discussion amongst impacted business units to confirm specific applicability
  • Ensure that required changes are properly classified according to urgency, timing, and potential impact
  • Manage process of notification of regulatory changes to the organization, confirmation of impact, and required changes
  • Develop plan for testing units’ effective completion of implementation plan
  • Track and report units’ progress to plan implementation
  • Participate in all aspects of transactional assessments, in accordance with Compliance Testing standards
  • Work in partnership with the business by investigating and responding to compliance questions or issues from operations employees
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Rushmore’s Compliance Program by ensuring consistency of adherence to company policy and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Compliance management

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Basic working knowledge of audit/risk assessment techniques and principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Able to work successfully independently and in a team environment
  • Must be action oriented with a great sense of customer focus and a high commitment to quality
  • Experience with mortgage origination and servicing software such as MSP and Encompass
  • Basic knowledge of mortgage business and products
  • Demonstrated ability to structure tasks and manage time effectively
  • Professional Customer Service attitude and focus
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • 4+ years of experience in compliance
  • 2+ years of experience in mortgage industry required

     

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Facsimile and photocopier
  • MSP, Encompass and other software used by Rushmore compliance staff
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of databases and corporate loan origination and servicing systems
