Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The AVP, Compliance will be responsible for helping ensure the organization operates in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations regarding the servicing and origination of residential mortgage loans.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Identifies opportunities for new or revised testing and monitoring needs and analytical pathways to address those needs
  • Researches and analyzes new and changed regulations; manages regulatory change notification and validation process
  • Manages state licensing and reporting requirements
  • Manages state and regulatory examinations
  • Participates in all aspects of business assessments, in accordance with Compliance Testing standards and government and regulatory statutes
  • Oversees and conducts timely compliance testing in accordance with the testing schedule
  • Tracking and validation of any system or organizational changes required by a regulatory change or issue identified as part of compliance testing.
  • Works in partnership with the business including investigating and responding to compliance questions or issues from operations employees
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of Rushmore’s Compliance Program
  • Provide leadership to the Compliance team and the day to day functions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance principals, with preference for consumer finance regulatory compliance in the mortgage servicing and origination space
  • Understand the importance of an integrated audit approach, while working with the business in evaluating and strengthening their internal controls
  • Strong technical understanding of the financial services regulatory environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of the testing, audit, and examination processes a plus
  • Prior experience communicating with regulators a plus
  • Ability to concurrently manage a large number of high priority tasks

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • JD., M.B.A., or equivalent post graduate degree is a plus.
  • A C.P.A and/or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) a plus
  • Minimum 7 years’ related experience
  • Mortgage servicing and originations experience desirable

  

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Proficient with productivity software such as Microsoft Office
