Overview

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President of Origination Operations Support is responsible for supporting Origination organization with functions such as Policies and Procedures, Disclosures, Work Sampling & Quality Assurance, Internal Audit, Risk and other testing & exams (SSAE16, USAP and other attestations), Assessment and Competency Testing.

 

Responsibilities

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Heavy interfacing with Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit and regulatory entities such as the CFPB to ensure that Origination operations comply with regulations.
  • Assist in Change Management and set-up of Business Controls.
  • Assist the SVP in various ad-hoc needs.
  • Manage functions under Origination Operations Support and ensure production output goals and key performance indicators are met and department expenses are in line with budget.
  • Lead a multi-function team.
  • Communicate and work effectively with Origination leaders, clients/investors/regulators/servicers/agencies; represent Rushmore with excellence.
  • Manage the timely creation, maintenance and distribution of Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate work sampling is conducted; root causes for defects are understood and remediated.
  • Work with the Law, Risk and Compliance group and ensure that Origination operations align with Compliance Management Systems.
  • Work with Internal Audit, Risk and Finance on various testing and audits, creation and maintenance of risk scorecards.
  • Serve as coordination and focal point for initiatives that pertain to the CFPB and other regulatory entities.
  • Maintain industry knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to travel and manage a multi-site operation, offshore, nearshore and onshore.
  • Assist in the creation of monthly/quarterly Origination reports and department presentations to regulators investors and executive management.
  • Complete annual staff performance assessments, develop employee goals and revise or develop job descriptions as necessary.
  • Assist the head of Origination in various initiatives.
  • All other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Mortgage industry training
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years in the mortgage industry with Origination knowledge
  • Understanding of compliance and regulations; exposure with regulators a big plus
  • Seven (7) plus years prior management or officer position
  • Systems/business analysis exposure a plus

 

 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

 

  • Proficient with PC software (Excel, Access, Word, etc.) in the creation of spreadsheets, databases and various word processing formats and document templates.
