Overview

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The REO Closer is responsible for the coordination of all aspects involved with the oversight of closing REO. The position involves frequent communication with the Client, Seller’s Listing Agent, Title/escrow office, Attorneys and internal staff to facilitate all closing tasks in a timely manner.


 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review daily exception reports to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Track and monitor scheduled closings daily with escrow/settlement office to ensure closing occurs as scheduled.
  • Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of Hud-1 Settlement Statement and ancillary closing documents.
  • Review title commitment for clearance and to assure all items are accounted for including but not limited to updating payoffs, taxes and HOA.
  • Timely and professional response to inquiries from Client, Seller’s agent, and internal staff.
  • Maintain open communication with team members and team leader.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings.
  • Correspond with Attorneys to ensure proper interpretation of Statutes.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to ensure payment integrity.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience in real estate or mortgage industry specializing in title review, including experience reading title reports, understanding closing requirements and managing outside vendor relationships.
  • Working knowledge of real estate titles, deed preparation and closing.

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • REO Background 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
