Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Database Administrator helps install, troubleshoot, and configure voice and networking hardware and software for a 600+ employees and a call center of 150+ agents.  The Database Administrator will also work with various third-party vendors and service providers to help move projects along and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee a database environment consisting of 15+ production SQL Servers
  • Evaluate production databases environment against best practices
  • Work with 3rd part vendor on monitoring, alerting and other database initiatives
  • Assist development team with rollouts, patching, query tuning, and database design optimization
  • Assist company with future initiatives involving new database versions and cloud presence
  • Oversee and implement security controls to protect confidential customer data at rest and in transit
  • Schedule and perform regular database maintenance
  • Augment existing disaster recovery protocol for production databases
  • Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting nightly ETL processes, batch jobs, and scheduled tasks
  • Create and Maintain database management procedures and configuration standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field preferred
  • High School diploma required
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing databases in enterprise environments
  • Expert knowledge of query performance tuning in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Expert knowledge of Information Security related disciplines (encryption at rest, encryption in transit, etc.)
  • Experience upgrading Microsoft SQL Server platforms
