Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Network Engineer will perform highly complex duties in the design, development, installation, integration, administration and maintenance of the Rushmore’s multi-site LAN/WAN infrastructure. This position will also be responsible for contributing to the strategic vision of Rushmore and lead or be a part of the complex IT Infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assessing near- and long-term network capacity needs, then making recommendations to the IT leadership team.
  • Designing and deploying LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including, routers, hubs, switches, VOIP and other network hardware.
  • Maintaining reliable, robust, and secure operations of the network environment.
  • Provisioning, monitoring and managing the network infrastructure.
  • Monitoring, updating, upgrading and maintaining physical hardware within the datacenters.
  • Validating configuration and operation of network equipment.
  • Developing documentation and diagrams of infrastructure, including inventory and patch matrix
  • Creating a process for network topology changes.
  • Documenting and Managing Telecom and Network Support Systems, including patching, upgrading, and security hardening
  • Assist in design and implementation of technologies to ensure support of Disaster Recovery plans
  • Manage Ticket pipeline within stated SLA’s.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Expert Level experience managing Cisco data center class gear (Nexus, ASA, ISR)
  • Expert Level LAN/WAN Design and Implementation
  • VOIP experience
  • Ability to be a self-starter and independent worker
  • Understand complex networks and troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Skills

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Eight plus years’ experience working in network administration within an IT organization.
  • Cisco Networking–Expert (CCIE or CCNP required)
  • Previous large project experience is preferred.

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
