Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Legal Proceeding Specialist will support the foreclosure and other company departments in a remote role by representing the company in attending legal proceedings and performing other foreclosure related activities.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with attorneys and paralegals on litigation and foreclosure matters
  • Prepare for legal appearances by reviewing loan files, production documents, and other related materials
  • Determine and analyze testimony support needs and locate required documentation through various sources
  • Review active cases for changing circumstances and opportunities to prevent or reduce loss
  • Represent the company in various legal matters, including (but not limited to) court trials and hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, and various other legal actions
  • Support the law department as needed by working on a variety of portfolios and applications
  • Conduct property site inspections on occasion
  • Generate various litigation reports for management review
  • Apply company objectives and investor protocols as they relate to various legal processes 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Florida foreclosure process
  • Previous legal experience helpful 
  • Ability to comprehend chain of title, servicing agreements, endorsements, assignments, allonges, notes and related documents 
  • Persuasive and professional written and oral communication and negotiating skills 
  • Detail oriented/organized style 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain reserved business demeanor under difficult cross examination 
  • Ability to be punctual and reliable, travel, and work flexible schedule
  • Must be able to be assertive, work independently, and be an effective team member
  • Strong creative problem solving skills and results driven
  • Professional appearance and behavior 

 

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2- years experience testifying in court as a corporate witness in foreclosure cases
