Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Analyst in Capital Markets is responsible for providing analytical support to the company’s acquisitions, financing, and asset management departments. The role will focus on the evaluation, modeling and pricing of potential real estate and structured finance acquisitions.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deciphering collateral data tapes, creating summaries and communicating with respective sellers to obtain acquisition snapshots
  • Interact closely with traders/structurers in determining pool characteristics, assumptions and pricing stratifications
  • Assist in the development and production of monthly reporting packages, including trend analytics and portfolio performance
  • Actively participate in relevant internal & external meetings
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis and Reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making
  • Self-motivation required for accomplishing goal/project oriented work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with management and business partners
  • Ability to work, anticipate, and adopt tactics in a changing business environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to provide operational data and analytical results to senior management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, formulas, etc.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of GSE eligibility, inclusive of government insuring.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a focus on economics, finance or engineering preferred
  • 1-3 years of investment banking and/or private equity experience, preferably working in real estate or Mergers and Acquisitions areas
  • Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving expertise, with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working with strict deadlines

 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (including expert level knowledge of Excel)
  • Fluency with the advanced features of various software applications - including proficiency with spreadsheet and database software/applications
