POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Cash Specialist is responsible for processing and posting monthly mortgage loan payments according to departmental procedures, ensuring the level of service on all Rushmore loans meet company expectations along with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain and deliver a high level of productivity, efficiency and accuracy.
  • Handling of all Cashiering incoming mail
  • Assist Supervisor with maintaining and updating department policies and procedures (P&P) for cash functions ensuring every team member is compliant with following such P&P’s
  • Assist Supervisor with special projects
  • Assist Supervisor compile audit documentation
  • Process borrowers’ monthly mortgage payments, including checks, wires, money orders and Western Union payments according to established department procedures. 
  • Communicate with the various business units/departments for proper posting of borrowers’ mortgage payments/transactions.
  • Coordinate with Loan Servicing Representatives to send out checks for escrow accounts.
  • Prepare daily deposit forms/deposits.
  • Reconciliation of debits and credits.
  • Research exception or rejected payments.
  • Maintain excellent levels of performance on service level agreements while ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations, departments requirements, and operational procedures
  • Assist Supervisor with mentoring Cashiering staff for training, cross-training, and development needs
  • Build positive relationships among various departments to promote a culture of teamwork, ultimately working together toward company objectives and common goals
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures within the mortgage industry
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and maintain a high volume work environment
  • Highly motivated and ability to problem solve effectively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to perform with a sense of urgency

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s’ Degree preferred
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum two (2) years conducting Cashiering responsibilities in loan servicing industry

 

 

MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application
  • 10 key by touch, Typing
  • Experience with MSP/ LPS servicing system
